about kirsty
Hi, I’m Kirsty.
The food and wellness industry has always intrigued me. But after 20 years of running a successful events and food consulting business, a health crisis forced me to reassess my way of life and to take a deep dive into the world of health and wellness. I was determined to discover how to live.
This journey ignited a passion for health and wellness, but also left me wondering how people like me—those who love to cook, eat, entertain, and socialize—could maintain a balanced, healthy lifestyle and still have it all.
Luckily, I found guidance from a fellow mom with all the right credentials to help me create a scientifically-backed, quality product range that makes it all possible and together with my entrepreneurial skills, Almost Monday was born.
about marissa
Hello, I’m Dr. Marissa Janse van Rensburg.
Born in South Africa and raised in Canada, I spent most of my childhood in the beautiful Canadian landscape, enjoying fresh local produce, with farmers markets and orchards as my playground. This is where my passion for holistic living was kindled.
With both parents working in the health industry, an interest in human physiology came naturally to me. I studied Human Kinetics and later became a Naturopath. My approach to health and healing stems from my studies in physiology, nutrition and metabolism.
I've always believed in the power of food as medicine, and witnessed its healing capabilites when my sister was diagnosed with a genetic autoimmune disease. Western medicine kept her alive, but natural food and medicine allowed her to live a full life almost until the end.
My journey, inspired by loss and a desire to help others, motivates me to teach and empower people to experience healing and health through wholesome food.
